Mind Your MidriffPosted: March 23, 2012
It’s that time of year again: time to go swimwear shopping. To avoid the mental trauma of the winter – summer transition this year, I have two pieces of advice.
1. Avoid the 80s highcut. Jane Fonda and the Baywatch girls may have rocked the high-cut leg and shimmering lycra back in the day but that is where this look is best left. Thirty years on instead of inspiring arousal and jealousy, these swimsuits are more likely to cause temporary blindness and lasting psychological damage.
2. Embrace the 50s and 60s. We’ve carried almost everything else on from these decades, so why not the poolside fashions too? These cuts are much more flattering and have seriuos sex appeal.
So here is what I have for you in store: a selection of 50s and 60s swimsuits starting at £28, and bikini tops for £12.
And for the gutsy men amongst you, here a couple of pieces to really show your stuff. Literally.
